Political Action Committee

The Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Society Political Action Committee (OrthoPAC) is committed to effecting positive legislative change. The current Medical Liability Crisis represents the perfect coalescence of events for substantive change. Never before has the legislature been simultaneously faced by a multi-dimensional crisis; a crisis created by the ever-increasing cost of insurance, the brain drain of medical talent, and the physician exodus resulting in a threat to patient access to care. Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Society and your Political Action Committee are your strongest allies and your only organized grass roots association for medical liability reform. By working closely with our lobbyist for medical liability reform, increased reimbursement, continued MCARE relief and Workers’ Compensation, we have become a significant voice for orthopaedic surgeons in the Commonwealth. As a physician organization with one of the strongest specialty society PACs in Pennsylvania, it is essential that we remain politically active.

The OrthoPAC exists to support state candidates for public office who understand medical issues and defend OrthoPAC’s legislative positions; to encourage orthopaedic surgeons and their spouses to individually participate in local fundraising and campaign efforts; to encourage an understanding of the nature of the legislative and political process, along with a candidate's position on important medical issues; and to further understanding of legislative and regulatory activity in Pennsylvania.

Please contribute to the OrthoPAC today...a strong PAC is vital to the survival of orthopaedic surgeons in Pennsylvania.
